Applying one's knowledge to a 'real' setting is a challenge to many students of mathematics, and introductory statistics. The aim of the exercise that you are about to play with is to improve your ability to analyze descriptions of research scenarios by extracting the variable(s) built into those scenarios, and pinpointing their data types.
